Evelyn McDaniel, age 92, a longtime resident of Rensselaer, passed way February 6, 2013 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Evelyn was currently residing near her daughters in Cincinnati. She had also resided for a time at the Oak Grove Retirement Village in DeMotte. She was born July 12, 1920, in Jasper County, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Brown) Timm. She was raised in Jasper County and was a 1938 graduate of Medaryville High School.
Evelyn's first marriage was to Harry Holl who passed away November 9, 1955. Her second marriage was to George Lashbrook who passed away July 18, 1989. Evelyn then married Harry G. McDaniel on December 6, 1996 in Rensselaer and he passed away April 11, 2006.
She retired from Sears & Roebuck Department Store, Rensselaer after being a sales clerk for 15 years. She was also a QMA for 10 years at the Rensselaer Care Center. Evelyn was a member of the Church of The Nazarene, Rensselaer, the Pricilla club and a past member of the South Newton Home Ec Club.
Surviving are her loving family, daughters Alice (Charles) Roberts and Joyce (David) Nine, both of Cincinnati, Ohio and Judy A. Kurbin of Independence, Missouri; step-children, Tom (Martha) Lashbrook of Rensselaer and David (Sharon) McDaniel of Tacoma, Wash., 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandson's and two sisters, Marjorie Coburn of Monticello, Ind. and Hazel Timmons of Lafayette, Ind. Along with her parents and her husbands Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, Donald Holl.
Friends will be received at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer Monday, February 11, 2013 from 10 AM until 12 PM. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM at the Jackson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer.
