Margaret D. Bates, 91, Minneapolis, formerly of Mitchell, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in Minneapolis.
Services and other arrangements will be held at a later date.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1918, in Mitchell to Charles F. and Jane (Smith) Bates.
She was a graduate of Mitchell High School, McPhail School of Music, Minneapolis; and Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa.
She was a violinist in Kansas Orchestra, Chapel Hill, N.C.; and the Minnesota Orchestra.
She is survived by a sister in Mitchell; two nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clifford Bates.
