Augustine "Teenie" (Howard) Bellamy, 83, of Winchester Road, Waynesboro, went to her eternal rest on Friday, May 27, 2011, at Augusta Health, Fishersville, Virginia.

She was born on May 8, 1928, in Waynesboro, Virginia, a daughter of Beatrice Sullivan and Isaac "Ike" Washington.

She attended the former Rosenwald High School and later trained in the field of Nursing.

She was employed at the former Waynesboro Community Hospital prior to her retirement from General Electric Company. Upon her retirement she founded the African- American Heritage Museum.

She confessed her love of Christ at Shiloh Baptist Church and later became a member of the Union Baptist Church, and served on the Deaconess Ministry, Adult Choir, Usher Ministry, Busy Bee Club and many other church affiliations.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jathon R. Bellamy Sr; son, Benjamin Bellamy; three sisters, Cornelia, Helena and Constance; two brothers, Ozzie Lee and Robert Nathaniel; and a grandson, Simmie.

She is survived by four sons, Jathon Jr., Jeffro, James and Mackie Bellamy; four daughters, Nita, Gussie, Lawren and Nedaro Bellamy; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one devoted sister-in-law, Estella Weaver; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Union Baptist Church. Burial will be at Augusta Memorial Park.

Viewing will be held from 1 until 8 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at McCutcheon's Funeral Home.
