She married Henry Belcher on February 16, 1895 at 16 , with whom she spent 57 years until his death. To this union was born 14 children.
Mrs Belcher moved to Tuscaloosa and joined Jerusalem A.M.E. where she served until moving to Brighton, AL. She joined the Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church and was faithful until her health began to fail. She was a lady of humor and courage.
She leaves to cherish her memories; five daughters, Muggie (Lennie) Collins, Helen Belcher, Birdie Porter all of Birmingham, Clara Thompson of Brighton and Zora Mason of Chicago; four sons; Howard (Leona) Sr of Fort Wayne, IN, Huriah of Northport, AL; and Addie of South Bend, IN and a grandson she raised JB Woods of Fort Wayne, In; one sister, Jessie Colvin of Tuscaloosa; 59 grandchildren; 217 great grandchildren; 285 great-great grandchildren; 42 great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of neices, nephews and frinds.
