Survived by two daughters, Rebecca and Michelle Brown; son, James L. Brown Jr.; three sisters, Helen Byrd, Verdell Allen and Carolyn Jenkins; a brother, Eddie Porter Sr.; and aunts, Velma Porter and Olevia Randolph.
Preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Porter; father, Simon Brown; and brother, William Lucas.
