Mrs. Bannister was born on March 22, 1912, in Vandalia. She was the daughter of Lenn Harris and Sarah Davis Harris Cullen. She married Thurlow H. Bannister on Oct. 31, 1931, in Clinton, Ind.; he died on April 22, 1999.
She was a kindergarten teacher for more than 20 years in the Vandalia School District, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia and Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by sons, Larry Bannister and his wife Phyllis of Clever, Mo., and Bruce Bannister and his wife Judy of Effingham; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
