William was the son of Thomas Luster and Mary Justice. After fighting for the Confederate Army during the Civil War, he settled in Indiana. He was a farmer in the Ladoga area for over fifty years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. William was survived by two sons, Warner and William, and a daughter, Mrs. Alonzo McLean, with whom he lived in his latter years. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucenda, daughter Clara, as well as several siblings. Cause of death: Bright's Disease, now known as nephritis or kidney disease.
