DAVENPORT - Funeral services for Annie Ruth Hughes, formerly of Davenport, will be noon Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until noon Friday at the funeral home. Miss Hughes died Sunday, April 20, 2003, in Savannah, Ga. She was born March 16, 1963, in Louisville, Miss., the daughter of Charles and Annie (Cooper) Hughes. She moved with her family to Iowa in 1970. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards with her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. She leaves to mourn but live on her daughters, Jennifer Renee Hughes and Nichole LaWanda Hughes, both of Davenport; grandson, Marquis Hughes; father, Charles Hughes, Davenport; sisters, Elizabeth Sykes and Wanda Hughes, both of Davenport, Mary Hughes, Toledo, Ohio, and Diane Johnson, Rock Island; brothers, Robert Hughes, Izell Hughes, Willis Hughes, Willie Cooper and Willie Junior Hughes, all of Davenport, and Ray Charles Hughes, Herbert Lee Hughes, Jimmy Hughes and Kenny Ray Hughes, all of Louisville; a special friend, Lester Clayton, Savannah; 27 nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother; sister, Joanne Hughes; grandparents; and nephew, Robert Hughes Jr.
