BLOOMER, James E., 74, of Weirton, passed away Friday February 1, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was the husband of Carol Hicks Bloomer to whom he was married for 53 years.

Born on September 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Clifford and Estelene Kidder Bloomer.

James was a proud 1956 graduate of Steubenville High School and was employed by Weirton Steel Corp. as a buyer in the purchasing department for 43 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was an avid Steeler and Big Red football fan. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Carol, are two sons, James J. Bloomer of New Cumberland and Matthew W. Bloomer (Pam) of Elizabeth, PA; a daughter, Alisa Bibbee (Don) of Weirton; four grandchildren, Jordan Bibbee, Nicolette, Kaitlyn and Nathan Bloomer; and two sisters, Judy Pierce (Robin) of Newark, OH and Sue Weinman (Ed) of Boise, ID.

Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3432 West St.. Weirton where additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Steubenville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Hancock Co. Animal Shelter, 715 Gas Valley Road, New Cumberland, WV 26047 or the American Lung Association of WV, P.O. Box 3980 Charleston, WV 25339 or to his church in his memory.
