She was born on August 30, 1919 in McDowell County , to the Late Clemming Morgan and Lizzie Mosteller Morgan. Mrs Shirlen attended Nealsville Church of God. She worked for Clevenger Hosiery Mill and Ethan Allen until the 1990's.
Mrs Shirlen Loved the Lord ! She was a prayer warrior, always thanking God for all his blessings.
In addition to her parents, she is proceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Enoch Westley Shirlen,her sisters Ethel Black and Clara Morgan ; and her brother Floyd "Whitie" Morgan.
Left to Cherish Mrs. Shirlen's memory are her six Children. Charles Homer Shirlen and his wife Mildred , Leonard Eugene Shirlen and his wife Mary , Ruby Lathan and her husband John , Betty Shumaker, Jimmy Carol Shirlen and his wife Billie , Christine Smith and her husband Larry. One brother Gene Morgan and two sisters Esther Lawing and Gurthie Hunter; 17 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
