Amos A. Newton Jr., 63, of Ashville, Alabama, was of the Baptist faith. He attended Ashville High. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army, and received a Purple Heart and numerous other medals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos A Newton, Sr, and Myrtle Velma Barnett Newton; and brother-in-law, Bo Hammond. Survivors: a sister, and 4 brothers.
