Lt. John Andrews was the son of Daniel Andrews and Mary (Peck) Andrews. He married Mary (Goff) Andrews and they had five children: David, Moses, Mary, Abraham and Esther. He was active in military affairs and was sergeant in the Wethersfield Militia. He served in Queen Anne's War and was at the capture of Port Royal in Nova Scotia in 1712 and was later promoted to Lieutenant. He was one of the chief organizers of the Kensington Congregational Church.
