Darward Dale "Bill" Eames passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2003 in Ogden, Utah.

Bill was born February 17, 1916 to Robert and Bessie Montgomery Eames in Almo, Idaho. He moved to Syracuse and attended Davis High School where he met his sweetheart Sarah Elizabeth Simpson. They were married on August 7, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have been married for 60 years. They have 9 children, 34 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was employed by Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Company during World War II in San Diego, California. After World War II, he moved back to Utah where he owned and operated Eames Home Furnishings for 30 years.

He was a wonderful father and husband and loved his family dearly. He had a great sense of humor and loved to have good times with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a stalwart missionary and a champion in genealogy research. He served in the Southern States Mission in 1938. He and Sarah served five missions to the England Leeds Mission in 1983-84; the New Zealand, Auckland Mission in 1985-86; the Australia, Sydney Mission in 1988-89; the Salt Lake Temple Square in 1990-91 and the Washington, DC Temple in 1993-94.

He served in many callings in the LDS Church including, temple ordinance worker, stake mission leader, high counselor, branch president and many other callings. He loved attending the temple.

He was greatly loved by many friends and his family and will be missed by all who knew of his great character.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Eames; four sons, David L. (Mari) Eames, Roy; W. Merrill (Louise) Eames, Roy; Glen A. (Sara) Eames, Malad, ID; Steven G. (Lori) Eames, Mt. Green; five daughters, Barbara Eames, Salt Lake City; Susan (Mark) Lower, American Fork; Joan (Clair) Heslop, Centerville; Connie Haynes, West Jordan; Carol (Ralph) Andersen, West Point.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers, Robert, Rodney, Kay, one sister, June and one great granddaughter, Lisa Marie Eames.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2003, 11 a.m. at the Roy 5th Ward Chapel, 2100 West 5300 South, Roy. Family and friends may call Sunday, March 30, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, and Monday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
