WICOMICO - Thomas O. Bowers, 77, died September 11, 1994.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Williams Bowers. He was retired from the Navy department at Newport News Shipbuilding, where he was a designer and associate engineer. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Ordinary, where he had served on the board of deacons, was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the men's bible class. He was a member of Achilles Masonic Lodge No. 281, A.F. & A.M., Urbanna Royal Arch Chapter No. 59 and Penn-Neck Commandery No. 33.

He is survived by his daughter and son, Dianna B. Shoemaker and Lloyd T. Bowers, both of Baltimore; a sister, Catherine Greer, of Hampton; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service conducted by Rev. Dr. Thomas Gaskins will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Providence Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Williams family cemetery at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church, Ordinary 23131 or to the Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 247, Gloucester Point 23062. Arrangements by Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
