Cullom- Ruby D. Frantz, 92, of Cullom, IL passed away at 2:50 am on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Evenglow Tjardes Health Care Center in Pontiac, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Cullom United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. David L. Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church.
Burial will follow services at Westlawn Cemetery in Cullom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cullom United Methodist Church, Evenglow Tjardes Health Care Center in Pontiac, and Cullom Fire and Rescue.
Ruby was born November 27, 1920 in Iuka, Illinois a daughter of Walter and Clara (Rogers) Spangler. She married Delbert Frantz on October 28, 1939 in St. Louis, MO.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years: Delbert Frantz of Cullom; one son, Lynn (Sheryl) Frantz of Cullom; two granddaughters: Deanna Frantz (Greg Alston) and Jennifer Frantz (Alex Lopez); one great granddaughter: Anya Alston; and one sister: Vera Clifton of Cullom. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
Ruby and Delbert owned and operated a livestock, grain hauling, and corn shelling business together. She drove a truck hauling grain for over sixty years.
She was a member of the Cullom United Methodist Church for over sixty years and taught sunday school.
Ruby was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and sister who will be greatly missed.
