DAVENPORT - Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Robert J. Frommelt, of Davenport will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul the Apostle Church. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Burial is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Mr. Frommelt died Thursday February 28, 2008, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Robert John Frommelt was born on November 13, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa. the son of Raymond Edward and Kathryn (Kemp) Frommelt. He married Helen P. Geerts on May 5, 1956, in Davenport. She preceded him in death on June 20, 1990. Robert served in the Army, stationed in Korea. He worked in the accounting department at International Harvester, East Moline, for 45 years retiring in 1988. After retirement he pursued his interest in painting by attending painting classes at St. Ambrose University. He also enjoyed photography and music. Dad always enjoyed learning the latest technology, evident by all the time he spent keeping in touch with his computer friends and family. The greatest joy in his life was undoubtedly the time he spent with his grandchildren, rarely missing a sporting or school event. His survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Patty and John Handley, Eldridge, Iowa; a son, Dave Frommelt; and daughter and son-in-law, Cathy (Steve) Pashon both Davenport; grandchildren Amy Handley, Brittany Handley and Ben Pashon; sisters, Lois (Tom) Trilk, Dubuque, Iowa, Mary (Cliff) Bolt, Florida and Joan (Bill) Jackson, Rock Island.
