Mrs. Clara Baughman, 81, died in a hospital in Burlington, Iowa, Oct. 28. (1959) Mrs. Baughman had lived on a farm near Summer Hill until she went to live with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Stauffer in Burlington seven years ago.
Mrs. Baughman was born near Summer Hill on July 28, 1878, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Houchins. Her husband, U. A. Baughman died in 1942.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Delores Baughman of Macomb, Mrs. Iva Meyers of Summer Hill, Mrs. Mildred Foster of Springfield, Mrs. Ada Durall of Arizona, Mrs. Nola Goodwin of Quincy, and Mrs. W. E. Stauffer of Burlington; three sons, Angius of Baylis and Lee and Paul of Pittsfield; three sisters, Mrs. Dena Fast of Nebo, Mrs. Stella Inge of Clarksville, Mo., and Mrs. Lola Barnhouse of Michigan; two brothers, Chester and Joseph Houchins of Louisiana, Mo.; 33 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Church of Christ in Pittsfield, Saturday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Jesse Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Summer Hill Cemetery.
