Mr. Fryer was born June 21, 1918 in Blakely, Ga. to the late Lewis Brown Fryer, Sr. and Lonnie Hattaway Fryer. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Eleanor Grace Hobbs Fryer, a sister, Rebecca Fryer Puckett and his step-mother, Adelle Whatley Fryer. He was the retired Owner & Operator of Fryer's Pharmacy, attended Clemson University for 2 years and graduated with a BS degree from the University of Georgia. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely where he was member of the Men's Bible Class, former President of the Administrative Board and held numerous other positions in the church. He was also a member of the Magnolia Lodge # 86 in Blakely and the Hasan Shrine Temple of Albany, Ga., a member and former President of the Blakely Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris & Will Watt fellow. He was also formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Early and Past President of the Blakely-Early County Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Fryer's survivors include a daughter: Vicki Fryer Kornegay and her husband Bob of Blakely and a son, Lewis Brown Fryer, III and his wife Cheryl of Blakely. He has 4 grandchildren: Kyle Kornegay, Amanda Fryer Wideman and her husband Justin, Ashley Fryer and Allison Fryer- all of Blakely. He also has 1 great- granddaughter: Chloe Grace Wideman of Blakely. There are 5 special friends and caretakers: Jimmie Lee Davis, Eyvonne Garrett, Dorothy Wimberly, Mildred Corbitt and Abigail Levatte.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 265, Blakely, Ga. 39823, to Gentiva Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, Ga. 39817 or to your favorite charity.
