Leeola Davis Avery Coleman "MeMaw," age 94, of Pensacola, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 25, 2013. She was born July 13, 1918 in Alford, Jackson County, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie W. Davis and Bessie Lee Morris; her husband, Joe Coleman, and the father of her children, James Moses Avery. She retired from the Department of Juvenile Justice, where she was the Chef for the Youth Harbor Detention Center. She was also a charter member of Olive Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL.

Survivors include her four children, Zoia Ann (David) Holland, James Myron (Janis) Avery, Leola "Lee" (Otto) Knowles, and Dolly (Howard) Strickland; seven grandchildren, David Earl (Donna) Holland, Donna (Rusty) Dunn, Wendy R. Bassham, Christal (Adam) Feldman, Howard J. Strickland, Michael and Steven Krause; seven great grandchildren, Denver (Rachel Griffin) Holland, Tonya Holland (Andrew) Trommelen, Elizabeth Dunn (Stephen) Wright, Catherine Dunn, Paige Holland, Eli, Levi and SaraGrace Feldman; five great great grandchildren, Jocelynn, Makalynn, Ethan, Isabella and baby Denver; and her very special nephew, Seve (Sharon) Register.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of The Lady of Our Haven of Peace, especially those of Trinity Court for their special love and care.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 1 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Passmore officiating. Interment will follow in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Earl Holland, David Denver Holland, Howard Justus Strickland, Andrew Trommelen, Michael Krause and Otto Knowles. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 12 Noon until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Haven of Our Lady of Peace.
