Early Life: Ellen was born March 16, 1906, to Alfred L. and Mary Alice Tate Hanks. Her mother died when Ellen was 12 years old and her father later married Mary Alice's sister, Leuwella, who continued to raise her.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: In 1929, Ellen graduated from Utah State Agricultural College, now Utah State University. Later, she taught home economics in Hurricane, Utah. Ellen married William Bevan Anderson June 16, 1932. She returned to Tooele where they lived until 1988. Due to Bevan's health, they moved to Provo to live with their only daughter, Alice, and their family. Ellen had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was sharp as a tack and had a very keen and alert memory. Up until a month before she passed, she. was traveling back and forth to Bear Lake. Ellen Ramona Hanks Anderson left this earth to join her husband, William Bevan Anderson. They had been apart nearly 23 years. Ellen was just one and a half months short of 107th birthday, still fiesty, healthy and strong.
Family Message: "We have had the joy and pleasure of having G.G. (Grandma Great) with us for the last 24 years."
Survived By: Her daughter, Alice Marie Spencer; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Burial: Tooele City Cemetery
