CALDWELL -- Dorothy Elaine Weekley Hurst, 79, of Caldwell, died Monday (July 18, 2011) at Genesis-Good Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born April 7, 1932, in Hopedale, Harrison County, daughter of the late Gilbert W. and Opal L. White Weekley.

She was a 1950 graduate of Caldwell High School, and worked as a secretary for the First Church of Christ in Caldwell for more than 25 years.

She was a member of First Church of Christ and its Lambda Phi Sunday School Class, a member of the Young at Heart Club and the Guernsey Chapter 211, Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Velosky; an infant brother, Gilbert Weekley; and a grandson, Brandon J. Sholtis.

Surviving are her husband, George W. Hurst, whom she married Oct. 27, 1951; four daughters, Debbie C. (Rick) Bailey and Becky J. (Mike) Lemaster, both of Caldwell, Tammy E. (Robert) Miley of Sarahsville, and Teresa A. (Dave) Densmore of Caldwell; two sisters, Shirley M. Rayner and Janice M. (Kenny) Nichelson, both of Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Norma (Joe) Dudley of Cumberland; two brothers-in-law, Herb (Lois Ann) Hurst of Caldwell and James Velosky of Dayton, Ky.; an aunt, Doris Way of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East St., Caldwell, where services will be observed at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastors Dale Hunt and Loran Dace officiating.

Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery, Caldwell.
