Ruth Clower, daughter of the late Rev. J. S. Clower, for many years a member of the Little Rock Conference, was born in Nashville, Ark., February 7, 1894, and departed this life at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. L. Alcorn, in Gurdon, Wednesday, November 17, age 15 years, 9 months and 10 days. She possessed a Christian character of rare beauty. She, with her twin sister, Esther, professed faith in Christ at the age of 12 years, and united with the Methodist Church of Gurdon under the ministry of Rev. H. M. Bruce. She was a devoted member, loving the Church with all the ardor of her young life, and so great was her influence that when it was announced that she was dead, the entire community was thrown into mourning. Her funeral was held from the church she loved so dearly, being conducted by her pastor, Rev. F. N. Brewer, assisted by Rev. W. Steeole, and was attended by the entire community. She is survived by her mother, four sisters and one brother. Her life was a beautiful one, and in her death the world in impoverished and heaven made sweeter. F. N. Brewer.
