Edgar P. Pryor, Sr., retired farmer of Beaver Creek, died at his home on Thursday [Nov. 12, 1959] at 11:15 p.m. of complications after an illness of one year, aged 56.
Born near Wolfsville, he was the son of the late Theophilus and Rosa (Kline) Pryor. He was a member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are:
daughter, Mrs. Dale Winders;
son, Edgar P. Pryor, Jr., both of Hagerstown Route 1;
seven grandchildren;
sisters,
Mrs. Crawford Bumbaugh, Lantz, Md.;
Mrs. Susan Earley and
Mrs. Mary Beans, both of Smithsburg;
Mrs. Nettie Woodring, Hagerstown;
Mrs. Raymond Willard, Smithsburg;
Mrs. Woodrow Kline, Myersville;
Mrs. Martin Kline, Smithsburg;
brothers,
Harry Pryor, Myersville;
Maurice Pryor and
Albert Pryor, both of Smithsburg.
The funeral will be held Sunday with services at the Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Basil Grossnickle officiating, assisted by the Rev. DeWitt H. Miller. Interment in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
The family will meet friends at the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro, Saturday evening. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
