Mary E Allen, 68, of Waterloo, died Suday, Dec 26, 2004, in her home.
Services 1:30 pm Wednesday, Hagerty-Waychoff-Grarup Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm today at the funeral home.
She was born Aug 9, 1936, in Potter, Neb., the daughter of John Abe and Hazel Viola Wood Jessop. She married Robert C Kerkman and they later divorced. She married Duane R "Buzz" Allen. He preceded her in death. She was a barber in the Russell Lamson Building, Waterloo, for many years and later in her own shop near Hudson, retiring in 1993.
Survivors include her special and best friend, Glenn Greenwood of Waterloo; two sons, Rodney A (Stacy) Kerkman and Rocky W (Teresa) Kerkman, both of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren; a brother, Jim Jessop of Vinton; and a sister, Lily Scheib of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Kerkman; a grandson, Neil Kerkman; two brothers, Clarence and Verl; and three sisters, Helen, Viola, and Virginia.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Shiners Hospitals for Children.
