Raymond F. Acosta, Sr., age 73 and a resident of Gulfport died Saturday, January 10, 2004 in Gulfport, MS.

Mr. Acosta was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gulfport for 20 years. He served in the U. S. Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Acosta was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond M. and Marie Acosta. He is survived by his wife, Shirley T. Acosta of Gulfport, MS; his four children, Raymond F. Acosta, Jr. of Angat, Bulacan, Philippines; Kathryn Acosta Couvillion of Baton Rouge, LA; Andrea A. Bergeron, Butte Larose, LA; Christopher J. Acosta, Sr., of Kentwood, LA; two sisters, Fran Poche of Chatham, LA; Mona Tuschl of Marrero, LA; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his beloved pet Colby.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Highway 49 North, Gulfport with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Gulfport.
