Husband of Mary Elizabeth Tucker Barnes
Charles Eli Barnes, 78, died at his home near Boonshill last Saturday morning, after about a two-weeks illness. He was the son of the late Francis and Amanda Cunningham Barnes and was born and reared in that vicinity.
He was a member of the Methodist Church at Hughey, and his funeral services were held at that church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. C. Folk, the pastor, with burial in the Barnes Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Amanda Jeans; two sons, Buford and John Barnes; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Milliken, Mrs. Edward Woods, and Mrs. Effie Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
