Jane Buford Murphy, 70, passed away January 23, 2013. She was born on April 27, 1942 in Columbus, GA to Emma Graves and Gaston Reedy Buford. She graduated Treadwell High School in 1960 and Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in 1964. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ and formerly a member of Union Avenue Church of Christ. She retired as a Supervisor with Protective Services after 31 years of service with the Shelby County Juvenile Court in 2007. She is survived by her two sons, Chris Murphy (Amber) and Tim Murphy (Charity); five grandchildren, Ashlyn, Zachary, Taylor, Caitlin, and Ashley; and one brother, Lieutenant Commander G. Reedy Buford (Fran). The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. followed by services at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 26 at the Chapel at Highland Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Highland Church of Christ.
