Born Nov 19, 1908 in Lancaster, WI, of Norwegian descent. Mr. White died Saturday of congestive heart failure at Manorcare Nursing Center in Hemet. He had lived in Hemet for 23 years. He had many hobbies, Genealogy; tracing family history back to 1080. Rock hounding and lapidary, Photography, Historian on the Civil War including Editor of the book Civil War Diary of Wyman S. White.Russell C. White USMC Ret., joined the Marine Corps in 1928 retiring in 1960.He rose in the ranks from Private to Lt. Col where he became the Administrative Officer of the Personnel Dept of Headquarters Marine Corps., Wash., D.C.He undertook his diverse military career with diligence & pride yielding success in all of his assignments. He was attached to the 2nd Marine Division.He enjoyed memberships in: Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Norway, Previous Officer of St. John's Lutheran Church, Parliamentarian for Homeowners Assoc. of Sierra Dawn Estates, Marine Corps. Mustangs Assoc. & Life Member of the Retired Officers Assoc.
