She was educated in Morris schools and she graduated from the American Floral Art School in Chicago, IL. She married Pete Erio in January of 1946 in Morris, IL.
She was employed with the Joliet Arsenal in Elwood, IL. During WWII, S&F Appliances and was a floral arranger with her daughter, Donna at the Strawberry Plant Boutique Floral Shop in downtown Morris, IL.
Former member of the First United Methodist Church in Morris, IL where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, member of Morris Library reading group. She served as a hospice volunteer for many years in Morris. Among her hobbies were reading, embroidering, writing poetry, traveling, shopping and spending time with her family, especially her granchildren and her great-granddaughter, Gracie.
Surviving four children, Donna Matteson of Morris, IL, Peter A. Erio of Morris, IL, Laurita (Steve) Provancal of Elmhurst, IL and Steve M. (Janet) Erio of Joliet, IL; seven granchildren, Amy (John) Peacock, Scott Matteson, Peter A. Erio Jr. of Morris, IL, Nicholas Erio, Demotte of Indiana, Gina Erio of Coal City, IL, Laura and Maria Provancal of Elmhurst, IL; one great-granddaughter, Grace Peacock; at home severall nieces and nephews.
Preceded by parents; husband on June 17, 1974; one sister, Lucille Matteson; three brothers, Maurice, Harry and Donald.
Funeral Services Monday, January 8, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at U.C. Davis & Sons, Funeral Home, LTD., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, IL with Rev. Tom Ostrander officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
