Dorothy "Mickie" Lou Forte Ackerman, 79, of Shulerville, wife of Trenton Eldridge Ackerman Sr., died Sunday, January 20, 2013.
Mrs. Ackerman was born December 15, 1933, in Awendaw, a daughter of the late Carlisle Clifton Forte and Ione Murrell Forte.
She was survived by her husband, Trenton Eldridge Ackerman Sr. of Shulerville; a daughter, Julie Ackerman (Paul) James of North Carolina; two sons, Trenton E. (Cindy) Ackerman Jr. of Shulerville and Jeffrey C. (Michelle) Ackerman of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Alison James (Michael) McCloskey, Ann Marie James (Ilir) Berberi, Lindsey Ackerman (Jason) Meahl, Trenton Caleb Ackerman, Jeremy Carlisle Ackerman, Jacob George Ackerman, and James Stuart Ackerman; a great-grandchild, Ryland G. McCloskey; a brother, Carlisle Forte, and two sisters, Murrell Burnett and Betty Thames, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Mrs. Ackerman's memory was honored by a "Gathering of Friends" on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in Ocean Grove United Methodist Church.
Burial, directed by J. Henry Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel, was private.
