Ref: Winnipeg Free Press, Winnipeg, Canada, 19 Dec. 1947 -- William Hugh Johnston -- An assessor with the income tax department for the dominion government for the past four years, William Hugh Johnston, 47, of 187 Bartlett avenue, died Thursday at Winnipeg General hospital. Born in Ireland, Mr. Johnston came to Canada 20 years ago (1927). He was a member of the Holy Trinity church. Besides his widow, Charlotte, he is survived by two brothers, J. H. and Thomas and two sisters, Mrs. J. Brown and Lilly all in Ireland. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at the Clark Leatherdale funeral home with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Rev. Terence J. Finlay will officiate.
