She died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome the reason I say this because the symptom are the same. No headstone
Antioch Ledger Monday 3 March 1947
Baby girl suffocates in bassinette. Funeral service held today for infant. Private graveside service were held in Holy Cross Cemetery at 9am today for Carol Stella McAllister 3 months who suffocated Saturday morning in her bassinette at the home of Mr.& Mrs. Fred Robles at 1009 Hooper Street where she was being cared for while her mother worked. The child's still warm body was found at 6:30am by Mrs. Robles who entered the room to feed her. Apparently she had turned over and put her face between the cloth covered side and the mattress of the bassinette. Cause of death was determined at an autopsy Saturday afternoon. Mr. Robles told police that he removed the child from the bassinette placed it on the table where he vainly attempted to revive it with artificial respiration. Robles then went in search of a telephone and finally telephoned a doctor and the deputy coroner from the city hall. Mrs. Robles reported the child apparently was all right when she fed it at 2am. The child had been suffering from colic.
The baby was the daughter of Stella Reed of 1225 Ninth Street and was one of several that Mrs. Robles cared for.
Her parents were Stella Theresa Reed and Orval Wade McAllister
