Charles' father, Paul, later married Iva Nichols & to this marriage was born Charles' half-sisters/brothers: Merle Agnes (Wolf), Jack Leon, Marjorie May (Henderson), Anna Belle (Cartmill) & Ruby Iva (Newby).
Charles graduated from Rosston High School & later married his high school sweetheart, Mable Hickman; to this marriage was born Delores Jean, Judith Joan, Donovan Paul "Bud", Iva Lou, Betty Sue, Charles Donovan, Jr., Frances Charles "Charlene", Charles Donovan, Jr., Jackie Lee & Denise Lynette.
Charles & Mable raised their children on the family farm about 10 miles south-southwest of Gate, OK. Charles retired from the Beaver County District #1 in Gate, OK where he served as a road grader operator, mechanic & foreman.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Delpha, his father, Paul, his stepmother Iva, his son Charles Donovan, Jr., his sister Merle, his brother Jack, his son in-law Cleve Currier & his brothers-in law Clifford Henry "Pud" Wolf, John Cartmill & Edgar Newby.
