Obituary:
Mrs. Bertha Carrow Haddock, 94, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Haddock, a native of Pitt County, lived most of her life in the Chicod community. She farmed with her husband and later worked as a seamstress and furniture upholsterer. She was a member of Hollywood Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Haddock was preceded in death by her husband, Letha Haddock; a son, Lavone Haddock; and a daughter, Mavis Archer.
She is survived by her son, McBryde Haddock, and his wife, Kay, of Ayden; daughter, Lois Ann Cannon, and her husband, Bobby, of Ayden; grandchildren, Leonard L. Haddock and his wife, Angie, Sue Williams and her husband, Donald, Angie Worthington and her husband, Keith, and Bobbie Jo O'Geary and her husband, Bryan; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a very special niece, Hazel Williams.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hollywood Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 5103 N.C. 43 South, Greenville, N.C. 27858.
The family would like to express a very special "Thank You" to all the staff at Ayden Court.
