Christened 24 March 1695/96 at Towednack to Martin and Alice (Philips) Trewhella. Married Catherine Baragwanath in 1724. Yeoman farmer in Chylasson, Towednack, where he died and was buried 15 September 1763 at Towednack church. Father of Catherine (d.y.), Catherine Quick, William, Martin, Christopher and Matthew Trewhella, and Alice Freeman.
