Lyle V. Chambers, 94, of Lostant, passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2013 at Manor Court in Peru.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant with Rev. Mark Nowakowski, pastor of Lostant United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Cemetery in Magnolia. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Chambers was born November 6, 1918 in Lostant to George and Mamie (Durbin) Chambers. He married Catherine Harter on December 15, 1938 in Davenport, IA.
Mr. Chambers attended Lambourn School. He was a farmer in the Lostant and McNabb areas until retirement. He was a member of the Lostant United Methodist Church and was a Mason. He was a member of the LaSalle County Farm Bureau and past member of the Lostant School Board.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Chambers of Streator and Terry (Kathy) Chambers of Lostant; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Darrel Chambers of Peru; one sister, Margaret Genovese of Lake Placid, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine on December 1, 1996; two daughters, Barbara and Judy; one son, Dan; one brother, George Chambers; and one sister, Phyllis Easton.
Pallbearers will be Matt Gehm, Payton Gehm, Jonathon Gehm, Terry Chambers, Steve Chambers, and Tory Koehler.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Lostant United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.
