May 13, 1938 - Humboldt Republican - Amy Evelyn Clark Arnold was the oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E E Clark, deceased. She was born in Kossuth county April 28, 1870 and died May 6, 1938 in Humboldt, Iowa at the age of 6
years and 8 days.
Her early life was spent near Livermore where she attended Livermore public school. Later she was graduated from Algona normal school and taught in the publie schools. On August 4, 1892 she was united in marriage to Frank D. Arnold of Arnold, Iowa. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs Mae Edge. They lived at Arnold until 1911, then moved to Humboldt, Iowa where they have since made their home. Her last sixteen months were spent in the home of her daughter, where she passed away.
Mrs. Arnold was a member the Methodist church of Humboldt for many years, recently becoming associated with the Pentecostal faith. She lived for others, visiting and reading to the shut-ins, spreading a ray of sunshine as she went along life's way. Her goal has been attained. She has been called up higher and is today with her Savior. She was truly one of God's noble women.
She is survived by her husband Frank D. Arnold, daughter Mrs. Mae Edge, six grandchildren: Vernon Arthur, Marvin Arnold, Darlene Gertrude, Marjorie Mae, Dale Alvin, and Gene Dewey Edge; four brothers E.W. Clark of Corvallis, Oregon; George of Yamhill, Oregon; Ross and Harry of Livermore; two sisters Mrs. C.A. (Leila) Raney of Livermore; and Mrs. George (Flora) Lauster of Bigstone City, South Dakota; also a host of relatives and friends.
