William B. married Mary A. about 1829, probably in Anderson County, South Carolina.
In the late 1970's I corresponded with Pope F. Brock of Atlanta, Georgia. At that time he was the foremost authority on this branch of the Brock family. Mr. Brock told me that William and his wife Mary had a nice farm about three miles south of Toccoa, Georgia and were members of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He stated that they were both probably buried at the Liberty Hill Cemetery in what was by that time unmarked graves. Their home was very near this cemetery. He further stated that his information came from his grandfather, Anderson Brock. He also told me that according to his grandfather, William B. Brock was the son of Reuben Brock III. I have never found any documentation to support this claim. The area in which William and Mary lived and died is now Stephens County, Georgia.
William is found on the following census records - 1830 and 1840 Anderson County, South Carolina, 1850 Pickens County, South Carolina, 1860, 1870 and 1880 Franklin County, Georgia.
His middle name is spelled in a variety of ways. He is found as Bailey, Baylor and Bayles. Mr. Pope Brock stated that the correct spelling was Bayles.
William was the father of ten known children.
