The daughter of Howard and Ada Mae Settle, she was born June 3, 1927 at Guymon.
Mrs. Abern had made her home at Amarillo for many years before moving to Ulysses.
Survivors include one son, Chance E. Abern of Harrisburg, Penn.; three sisters, Jane Caldwell of Winchester, Va., Patsy Symons of Accadia, Florida., Dorothy Oquin of Liberal, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends including Mr. and Mrs. Burl McPherson of Amarillo.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel in Guymon Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Charles Wallace, pastor of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Henson Funeral Home of Guymon.
