Sarah I. Cochran, 82 of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at her residence. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until service time Thursday at the chapel. Sarah was born February 22, 1930 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Noble and Laura (Bouldin) Small and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1948. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed making crafts like soap and rugs, herb gardening and cooking. She was a member of the Susquehanna Restoration Branch. She was married to James "Wally" Cochran on May 18, 1949; he survives her of the home. Other survivors include; a daughter, Anna Mary Carriker and husband Neil of Lee's Summit, MO; 4 sons, David Cochran and Tim Cochran and wife Debby of Independence, MO, Mike Cochran and wife Donita of Lexington, MO and Christopher Cochran of Independence, MO; a brother, Clemon Small of Montana; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
