Family information: Gabriel died while there were several children still in the home. Willie, his son, was just 12 yrs old when his father, Gabriel, died. Willie worked for other farmers in the Holt community to help his Mother and siblings.

Father of County Road Head Dies
William Allen Ahl, 73, father of Earl Ahl, Perry county highway superintendent, died at 7:45 Thursday October 26 at his home in Cloverport. He was a victim of cancer of the stomack.
Born August 28, 1872 in Breckinridge County, Mr. Ahl spent all his life withing the bounds of this county, with the exception of the past ten or twelve years, which he lived partly in Indiana. He was the son of Gabriel and Jane Pate Ahl.
The surviving children are, Mrs. Pearl Maysey, Cloverport; Mrs Susie gedling, Cornersville, Indiana and James C. and Earl Ahl of Tobinsport. There are two survivng brothers, three sisters and 12 grandchildren. Also one great grandchild.
The remains were taken to Stephensport for burial and the funeral was held at the Methodist church at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon witht the Rev. Whittaker preaching. Burial in the town cemetery. Pallbears were Hewitt Hawkins, Ernest Smith, Ray Dodson, Castle Dye, Norris Hall and Paul Maysey.
