Dies in Hospital
After Illness.

WEIR. Kan.-- Dr. Fred E. Deal, M.D., 71 year-old Weir resident, died Monday night in Veterans' hospital of Kansas City, Mo. He had been a patient there since September 7, and in failing health for five months.

He was born February 15, 1889, in Grenola, Kan. and moved to Weir in 1913, beginning his medical practice at that time. Dr. Deal received his medical degree from Kansas City Medical College shortly before moving to Weir.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of Weir Methodist church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Craycroft Deal, whom he married on October 13, 1954; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Scott and Mrs. Alene Dugan, both of Grenola, and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 3:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in Weir Methodist church. The Rev. B. B. Earnhart will officiate.

Burial will be in Hosey Hill cemetery under direction of Naylor-Qiunn funeral home.

The body will lie in state in the home from 10 o'clock this morning until 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.
