Monday at First Assembly of God. The Revs. J.M. Barnard
and V. Ray A1len win officiate.
Burial win be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Steed-Todd Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Akers died Thursday, April 8, at Clovis High Plains Hospital. He was born Feb. 4, 1908 in Vinson, Okla. He arrived in Curry County at the Center Community area in
1916. He married Lorene Owen on Nov. 14, i933, in Clovis. He was an automotive mechanic and a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Akers, of the home in Clovis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Ann Akers, Fresno, Calif., and Bennie and Norma Akers, Las, Cruces and Clovis; one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Sid Turner, Clovis; one daughter, Wi11afaye Collinsworth, Clovis; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Debra Lynn Akers in January of 1975, his parents; seven brothers, and one sister.
Casket bearers will be his grandsons, Terry Akers, Donnie, Ricky, and Gary Turner, Lance and Greg Akers, and Rocky Collinsworth.
Honorary bearers will be his granddaughters, Shelley Ellis and
Leslie Micola, his great-grandchildren, Harvester Sunday School Class, and Dr. Padmanabhan.
