Robert Rene Pittman was named for his Grandfather Rene Marion Pittman and was the first born son of George and Emma Pittman with two older sisters. He died before his sixth birthday and the family moved from Paulding to Cobb County as he is not listed in the 1880 Census. Robert was buried in his Mother's Family Cemetery.

**Emma June Howell Pittman-Robert's mother died at age 45.

George Washington Pittman left Georgia between 1896 and 1898 for Texas. Sisters Beula and Lula stayed in Georgia while the rest of the Pittman children moved to Texas and settled in Grandfalls, Ward County. Roberts brother Columbus 'Chappo' was the oldest living of the Pittman children, having died at age 86 in Grandfalls, Ward County where his decendents live still. His father George Washington lived to the age of 94 and remained in Texas for the rest of his life. He died in the Texas Confederate Soliders Home in Austin and is buried in the Confederate Soliders Cemetery.
