Clyde Miller, 85, of Daingerfield, TX formerly of Hobart passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012.
He was born on July 12, 1927 in Gary, IN to Clyde W. Miller and Beulah (Stanford) Neyhart. Clyde served in the Army during the Korean War and worked as a truck driver for American Can retiring in 1980. Clyde was a member of Lonestar Baptist Church and the American legion Post #142. Clyde enjoyed going to church and golfing. On October 28, 1955 in Valparaiso he married Jeanette "Roberta" Henry who survives along with three daughters: Marilyn (Larry) Shurr of Valparaiso, Madelyn (Stanley) Kocon of Hobart, and Michal (Ben) Knox of Valparaiso; seven siblings: Viola Ele, Paul (Beverly) Neyhart, Frances (Willard) Neeley, Kenny (Carol) Neyhart, Wayne (Jeanette) Neyhart, Eleanor (Clyde) Hardesty and Sharon Chessor (John); 12 grandchildren: Melissa (David) Riley, Sara Shurr, Megan Shurr, Jonathon Shurr, Kelly Shurr, Stephanie (Max) Soleck, Kyle Kocon, Jeremiah (Caree) Brooks, Micah (Ashley) Brooks, Nicholas Brooks, Joshua Knox and Matthew Knox; eight great- grandchildren: Mackenzie Lloyd, Faith Lloyd, Hannah Lloyd, Briar Riley, Marshall Riley, Aurora Sobeck, Hailey Sobeck and Basilio Brooks.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Miller; four sisters: Thelma Hardesty, Irene Manning, Wanda Miller, and Joan Neyhart; grandson, Nathaniel Brooks.
A funeral service is planned for Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN with Pastor Randall Forsythe officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
