Mrs. Mary Barrett, sister of John T. Colt, who had been living in this place for over a year, died in her apartments in the Cole building on Queen street last Saturday evening. She was almost 82 years old. The deceased was a native of Northumberland. With her husband, Rufus B. Barrett, she left Northumberland over fifty years ago for New Castle, Pa. Later they moved to Pottsville, where Mr. Barrett died in 1904, at the age of 76.
A funeral service was held on Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Isaac Cadman of the M. E. church officiated. The remains were taken to Pottsville for on Sunday evening. James Lloyd, G. M. Howell, F. M. Van Devender and T. J. Fisher were casket bearers.
