Dorothy was the daughter of Harley & Emma Wright Moreland. She was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. After graduation she went to work as a telephone operator and was later transferred to the Florence office. She met her future husband, Wilbur in Florence. On March 14, 1936 she and Wilbur were married. They lived in Florence and later made their home in Marion. Mother of Gary. Member of Valley United Methodist Church, Marion
