Mary Ann Alvey, age 73, of Reed, KY, passed away at 10:58 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Methodist Hospital, Henderson, KY. Mrs. Alvey was a member of Reed Community Church, where she loved to sing. Mary Ann was a great homemaker. She enjoyed blackberry picking season and NASCAR. She was preceded in death by her parents Hubert & Nannie Marie Midkiff, 2 sons Darrell Wayne and Robert O. Alvey, Jr., a daughter Donna Kay McPhee, sister Laverne Midkiff, and brother Jackie Dale Midkiff. Survivors include: Loving Husband of 57 years: Rev. Robert O. Alvey, Sr. Reed, KY 1 Son: Randell Alvey and wife Darla Henderson, KY 2 Sisters: Wanda Jeanne Abell Aurora, IL Geraldine Crowell Owensboro, KY. 1 Brother: Rudy Lee Midkiff Owensboro, KY. 4 Grandchildren: Christina Mount, Roger Alvey, Richard Leistner, & Michael Simmons. 6 Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Mary Ann's Life Celebration from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday and again on Friday starting at 1:00 PM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
