W.J. "Bill" Ratcliff went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Margie, Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004. He is finally home.

Graveside service: noon Thursday, Jan. 20, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, lane B, Dallas.


Bill was born in Brownfield and spent a great part of his life in Quemado and Del Rio with his family and friends. He was also a resident of Grand Prairie and lived in Arlington for 48 years. He was married to Margie for 57 years. Bill was employed by Bell Helicopter for 27 years, retiring in 1986. He was in the Army Air Forces in World War II and served on Iwo Jima. His grandchildren were the pride of his life. Bill was loved by many and will be greatly missed.


Survivors: Sister, Sylvia Dickey of Abilene; family members in Baird and Graham; brother, Doug Ratcliff of Levelland and other family members there; brother-in-law, Horace Bratcher, Doris Bratcher, Allyne Herring, all of Waxahachie; children, Bill Ratcliff Jr. of Alvarado and Nancy Brown of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Booth Beckett of Dallas, Jennifer Ratcliff of Mansfield and daughter-in-law, Karen DeWitt of Madill, Okla.
