Comment from Bob Cottrell.
The Hiday Cemetery is basically destory. The original Hiday Cemetery was thought to have been completely destroyed. When improvements to Highway 13 and the adjacent bridge were made in 1916. Supposedly all the graves were than moved to Gravel Lawn Cemetery. However all graves were not moved to Gravel Lawn. As early as the year 2000 I traversed this cemetery which was overgrown with weeds and trees, however I found several stones in which most of them in year 2010 were missing. Story goes that other family members not Cottrell relatives have these stones as to this day. It was brought up at a Madison County Cemetery Commission by me that Hiday Cemetery also needs restored. This was rebuffed by the MCCC as to which cemetery I wanted restore, Cottrell or Hiday. I said Cottrell where my oldest known kin are buried. This Pioneer Cemetery needs to be restoryed its one of the oldest in Madison County, Indiana.
